Notebook / Blog

Rather than a blog, I like to think of this space as a personal notebook that is open and available for all to see. If I'm already keeping notes for my own various uses, why not share them publicly and hopefully provide value to others as well?

My Outlook for Mac application was not updating the email folders of any of my email accounts. This is the fix that worked for me...

In just a few seconds of editing, silhouette photographs can be much bolder and eye catching.

A new idea in progress...migrating my favorite quote note files to this blog post...stay tuned.

Savannah is a beautiful small-feel southern town full of exceptional food, history and sights. It is possibly my favorite American city to visit and one that I have visited many times. I always feel overwhelmed by how beautiful the town is with its many garden squares and river views. By request of several family and friends over the years, this is my list of favorite things to do while visiting.

Someone just asked me if it is possible to ask folks to register for a Zoom meeting (via Zoom) and I actually never thought about whether or not this is possible. I assumed a registration feature was meant more for Zoom webinars, but, as it turns out, if you (as the host) have an enterprise/education level Zoom subscription, you can ask that people register for a regular old Zoom meeting if you’d like. (Note that registrants do not need an enterprise / education Zoom subscription -- free level is fine!)

I’ve had good luck, at least in my mind, creating Instagram accounts around specific interests and locations. Creating Instagram accounts and testing ideas is free...so why not?

I had a long list of YouTube URLs and needed to easily download the thumbnail images of them. YT-DLP is an amazing and easy solution.

As it turns out, the journey to any of the destinations along the 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway, full of winding road and scenic overlooks, is half the fun...and maybe even more. Mount Mitchell State Park and Green Knob Fire Tower are two spots I had the chance to stop and explore.

I'm so excited to say that one of my photographs appears on the front of the Best of the Wildwoods Vacation Planner 2021!

This photo was taken at about 6:15am as the sun rose over the ocean in the Wildwoods. While early mornings aren't my specialty generally-speaking, this photo really reminds me that catching a Wildwood sunrise is worth the early alarm clock! I don't know about you, but I wish I could step into this scene right now!

Following a password reset (specifically a Microsoft O365 account), Apple Mail was not happy. It recognized that the password had changed but wasn't accepting the new password, even though we knew the password was correct..."Can't connect to the account...Enter the password for user...Unable to verify account name or password..."
